STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Supplies You'll Need

We specifically designed this bag to make it as easy as possible to grow mushrooms with the least number of supplies.

Materials Needed:

  • Fully colonized mushroom block
  • Alcohol Wipes and/or Spray Bottle Filled with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
  • Clean, sharp scissors or sharp knife
  • Mist bottle
  • Latex Gloves and Face Mask
  • Light source (indirect light or a LED light)
  • Temperature and humidity control (if possible)
Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace

Ensure a clean workspace. Wash hands and sterilize tools.

Step 2: Flip Bag

Rotate the bag so that the weight of the substrate sits on top of the top flap and filter.

Step 3: Cut and Open Bag

Using clean scissors or a knife, cut a large 3 inch ‘X’ across the front for a "fruiting

Step 4: Choose Environment

Place the grow bag in indirect light, ideal for oyster mushrooms.

Step 5: Provide Humidity

Optimal fruiting requires high humidity. Mist lightly with distilled water once every one or two days. Optional: Use a tent with a humidifier.

Step 6: Maintain Temperature

Keep the temperature at 75-80°F (24-27°C). Utilize a warm room or a space heater.

Step 7: Monitor and Adjust

Regularly check humidity and temperature. Adjust to maintain optimal conditions. Keep the surface moist but not overly wet.

Step 8: Observe Primordia Formation

Within days, primordia (early mushroom structures) should emerge on the block.

Step 9: Increase Light Exposure

As primordia form, gradually expose to indirect light, signaling mushroom growth.

Step 10: Harvesting

Harvest oyster mushrooms when they reach the desired size. Cut at the base with clean scissors or a knife for the best texture and flavor.

Remember, mushroom cultivation is an art; adjust based on your environment. Be patient and observe growth patterns for necessary adjustments.
